Music in YOU
We are unleashing the potential of music as a tool to foster social inclusion, creativity, and intercultural understanding among young people.
Music empowering youth
Music in YOU empowers youth workers to use music as a tool for social inclusion, creative self-expression, and intercultural dialogue among youth.
By connecting young people through shared musical experiences, the project fosters empathy, mutual understanding, active citizenship, and a strong sense of community, while highlighting the unifying power of creativity across cultures and backgrounds.

Voices Rising for Inclusion
- Music in YOU project is building the capacity and resources of youth workers to work with the language of music.
- 18 youth workers from 6 countries participate in an intensive training to learn and exchange non-formal education (NFE) methods using music to promote inclusion, civic engagement, and creative expression.
- In each country, young people form local music groups to explore themes of inclusion and civic issues, co-create music (e.g., songs, rap, musical theatre), and prepare a performance based on their reflections.
- These local youth groups come together in a transnational exchange at the Spanish Coslada Street Music Festival to present their performances, connect across cultures, and share experiences of civic engagement through music.
- Local stage events and online campaigns are organized to spread the messages created by the youth groups and raise awareness on social issues through their music.
- Six public events (one per country) are held to promote project outcomes, especially among educators, youth workers, and organizations not previously involved, strengthening cross-sector collaboration.
Outcomes of the Music in YOU Project
- A video documentary serving as a practical guide for youth workers, featuring 12 instructional videos on how to use different musical styles and methods for inclusion and civic engagement.
- A “backstage diary” capturing personal stories, best practices, and real-life examples from youth and youth workers involved in the music creation process, offering inspiration and practical tips.
- Six original music performances co-created and presented by local youth groups, addressing relevant social issues and demonstrating the power of music as a tool for expression and connection.
- Local and international events, including six multiplier events across partner countries and one transnational youth exchange, showcasing project results and encouraging replication.
- A social media campaign to amplify youth voices, raise awareness on social topics through music, and share the project’s outcomes with a broader audience.
- Strengthened competences of youth workers, particularly in applying inclusive and creative methods using music, documented and made available for wider use in youth work across Europe.
Music in YOU is a KA2 strategic partnership project of the European Union.
