BASE!Camp is a safe island where children can be recharged during a hard journey, where fun and acceptance are the foundation, and where it is revealed to everyone what their strengths are.
In BASE!Camp we want to give back something from what difficult circumstances have taken away from children: care, encouragement, positive feedback and a protected space where they can forget their worries for a while.

Why is BASE!Camp important?
In 2019, 23,000 children in Hungary lived in child protection institutions, and we can hardly estimate the number of children who also live in segregation or grow up in deep poverty.
It’s BASIC that the well-being of children who live in difficult situations is a common interest for all of us. We believe that everyone can do something for them. Whoever acts for them also acts for a better world.
Children growing up in state care often miss what every child should receive in order to become a healthy and happy adult: emotional and physical safety, care and acceptance.
BASE!Camp takes a small but very important step in this direction.
How do we work in BASE!Camp?
We use experiential education tools to support young people’s recharge. The result is growth in cooperation, self-knowledge and self-esteem.
In the camp, participants are surrounded by accepting adults who do not judge them, believe in them, pay attention to them and create safety for them.
Personal attention
Every camper receives individual attention. A team of 10-15 people – trainers, assistants and volunteers – works to provide real support.
Community and growth
We encourage young people to:
- see value in each other and in themselves
- experience the power of cooperation
- dare to make mistakes and start again
Responsibility
We also give young people the opportunity to join the camp program as volunteers and help others: their peers and their own community.
Acceptance and recharge
We accept when someone is not doing well. We work so that every participant can return home a little more recharged and feeling better in their own skin.
