TŐLÜNK NEKTEK – FROM US TO YOU

BE THE CHANGE YOURSELF

This special project series is a volunteer training for underprivileged youth. In 2015, to our greatest pleasure we were able to run the sixth FROM US TO YOU program. During a six month time period we use experiential learning methods to prepare the young volunteers to carry out their chosen, four day long community building activity at a rundown, neglected township.

TŐLÜNK NEKTEK PROJECT EBOOK

EBOOK

E-book based on the experience of „Be the change Yourself” program and the 6 years of „From us to You” program (2011-2016)

Non formal education methods to support disadvantaged youth by Academy of Experience for social and youth workers.

Our aim with the publication
We hope that this publication serves as, on one hand, a crossroads and a meeting point for those who would like to work efficiently for the welfare of underprivileged young people, furthermore, Élményakadémia Egyesület would like to improve and develop its methodology, approach and inventory collaborating with other professional workshops aiding underprivileged youth.
On the other hand, it is also a snapshot of our doing our work to the best of our knowledge. We hope that, as a continuously improving and redrawn picture, it will show the level we reach in our professional development. We are incredibly hopeful that in a year there will have been positive changes.

TŐLÜNK NEKTEK PROJECT WAS SUPPORTED BY NORVÉG CIVIL TÁMOGATÁSI ALAP IN 2015

We have a gone a step further in 2015, as the whole project was organized by six young volunteers or trainer assistants with the support of the Élményakadémia trainers. They all grew up in gypsy communities and experienced the benefits and power of being a volunteer during previous From Us To You programs. Now they wanted to share their knowledge with the new volunteers.

Why these six trainer assistants are so precious?

They are experts on how to talk to the locals, they know what kind of help is the most valuable to this community and how to get the most people involved with the project and see the world in a different way. They know what it means to grow up in a place like that and despite their own personal difficulties, they are able to inspire others in a joyful way.

The video below is an overview of this year’s events and will give you even more interesting details too.
