Eco Schola was an international project about environmental protection. OB Romania teamed with Academy of Experience from 20. June 2009. to 1. July 2009. to make this program come true. It has been funded by the Youth in Action program of the European Commission.

The goal was to widen the knowledge of youth workers, teachers and others interested in the topic of environmental protection and environmental awareness. The participants share the green minded approach and will pass it on in their own programs in the future. Therefore these people need clear facts, real opportunities, good methods and true self-knowledge to succeed in their goals.

The elements of the 10 day program became a whole through the methodology of experiental education. The participants deepened their theoretical knowledge and collected personal experiences. The organizers built theory and practice step by step together so the team started at self-knowledge and arrived to environmentally aware decisions and their own environmental initiatives through teamwork.

The trainers focused on the following areas: self-knowledge, trust-confidence, responsibility, consciousness, teamwork, initiation, creativity, facts, details, present environmental condition, environmental awareness, motivation level, fears, encounter difficulties, social sensibility, communication, project management. Methods were: workshops, presentations, outdoor activities, ropes course, expedition into the mountains, activities about self-knowledge, problem solving, strategy and community development. The participants realized their own environmental project in Sovata in the last days.

Few words about the training:
• Hiking in the hills of Gurghiului and Craiului. Orientation in the nature, following rules at a several day expedition. • Modeling everyday situations to highlight the importance of environmental decisions. • Participants planned and achieved their own environmental project in Sovata.
