Green Up was a 10 day outdoor training founded by Visegrad Found. Participants arrived from the following countries: Romania, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. The 18+ aged youth workers could explore environmental protection through the concepts of eco-ethic, project management and experiential activities.
The program was organised from 19. 03. 10. to 28. 03. 10. at Galyatető, Hungary.

The schedule had the following set up: team building and introduction games, theoretical foundation of system-thinking, three days expedition into the wilderness of Matra, theory of project management, visualisation and global problems, caving, project planning and realization, clearing own green goals and plans for the nearby future to make come true. High peaks were Kékes (highest peak in Hungary) and the Hungarian folk night at the last evening. Our spices were intercultural evening with food and music, open hearts, lots of fun, sharing and smile. The instructors used experiential education methods, such as rock climbing, caving, expedition into the wilderness, ropes course and many activities and group games. Workshops have been held in smaller intercultural working groups with the method of acting- experiencing and reflecting. Participants planed and maintained their own green projects in the surrounding villages.

• They collected trash in the forest and promoted leave no trace policy for youth.
• Promoted Earth Hour with leaflets and candles while offered free hugs for the citizens.
• Opened a discussion about a prohibited landfill in the forest, interviewed citizens about their opinion of hometown.

Our partner organisations were:
• FB Formação Desenvolvimento e Cooperação Lda
• Os Quatro Cantos do Cisne
• Outward Bound Slovakia
• Outward Bound Germany
• National Organization of the Scout Movement, Romania
• Civil Initiatives Development Centre CRIS, Poland
